Learn how to combine essential oils for Aromatherapy.

But before considering using essential oils, it is advised that you perform an allergy test/ skin patch as indicated below; . In order to do a skin patch, put one drop of a desirable oil into a tea-spoon of base oil, mix and apply inside of your wrist and elbow. If the oil is not suitable for your skin, the skin will be irritated in less than 24 hours. If there's no any skin reaction in such period, you can then continue enjoying your aromatic therapy.

SKIN PATCH/ALLERGY TEST BEFORE USING ESSENTIL OILS IS VERY IMPORTANT:  In order to do a skin patch, put one drop of a desirable oil into a tea-spoon of base oil, mix and apply inside of your wrist and elbow. If the oil is not suitable for your skin, the skin will be irritated in less than 24 hours. If there's no any skin reaction in such period, you can then continue enjoying your aromatic bath.

3) CREAMS OR LOTIONS WITH ESSENTIAL OILS:

4) INHALATION:

This method is simple but very effective in treating respiratory diseases: To inhale the oil, fill the bowl with boiling water, cover your head with a towel or blanket and inhale deeply into the steam for 5 minutes.

5) COMPRESS

This method has two options, one is for hot water and another one is for cold water, depending on a disease. It is usually administered in patients with swellings, skin inflammations, menstrual cramps, etc. Simply, get little water in a bowl, add 2-4 drops of the desirable oil, immerse the cotton cloth, bandage or flannel and compress it to an affected part of the body.

WHAT ARE THE BASE OILS?

Base oils are also called carrier, or infused oils. But infused oils are the ones that mainly used as base oils in aromatherapy preparations because they possess therapeutic properties, and the carrier oil at the same time as it is the one of the parts used in producing infused oils.

WHAT ARE THE CARRIER OILS

Carrier oils are made out of nuts, kernels and other fatty parts of the plants. They are also good but do not have strong aroma as essential oils. Carrier oils are commonly used to dilute essential oils and other types of oils which are then used in preparations of cosmetic products such as lotions, moisturizers, lip balms, perfumes, etc.

WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL FATTY OILS

Essential fatty acids are the oils made of vegetables but also found in our bodies. So now, as you understand that poor diet may result in lack of either minerals, or chemicals, vitamins, etc. That is how it can also result in lack of essential fatty acids, such as Omega-3 and Omega-6 .

Generally, application of the oils on the body is good for our health, and if possible, everybody should try and practice this in their homes or beauty spars. Oils work by entering the systems of our body through massage, digestive system and lining of the lungs if inhaled, applied or vaporized. And because they are made of plants that contain medicinal properties, they are able to prevent and treat many health complaints.
